I have two little brothers of which I am very proud. I have often prayed that God would allow us to live closer to each other so we could enjoy each other as adults and watch our children play together. So far it hasn’t happened, but I can continue to dream!
Anyway, I heard great news from both of my brothers this week. My youngest brother Jon is coming home from Iraq on March 4th! We are so thankful that he has remained safe and protected during his months of service in a dangerous place. I know that he can’t wait to go home to Hawaii and see his beautiful wife and two little girls!
Then today I learned that my brother Josh and his precious wife are expecting another baby! Their son Vincent is so excited to be a big brother. I personally am praying for a little niece because I want to witness my big, strong brother playing with teacups and princess dresses!
I often wish that I could go back and re-live moments of my life knowing what I know now. One thing I would do is appreciate my brothers more when we were growing up together. I would show them that I loved them more and make more of an effort to build a relationship. I went off to college in another state when I was seventeen, and I haven’t lived anywhere near them since.
Now that I’m grown and (hopefully) wiser, I don’t take for granted any of the time that we do get to spend together.
